Manual Machinist (Temp-to-Hire)

Location: Houston, TX 77034

Pay: Commensurate to experience - Max $40.00/ hr

Shift: 7am-3:00pm and 3pm-9pm M-F (must be available for nights and weekends if needed)

Experience:
Must be able to operate manual HBM, Engine Lathes, VTLs, Knee Mills, and Radial Drills. Brand should not be a factor. If interested please email your resume to [email protected] or text 281-282-1300 put MM in the  subject.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders to fabricate metal parts according to specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or other technical drawings to determine machining operations
• Perform precision measurements using tools such as bore gauges and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
• Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Skills:

• Proficient in manual machining techniques, including turning, milling, and grinding
• Knowledge of tooling selection and setup for different machining operations
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and practices
• Experience working with plastics injection molding is a plus
• Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls is preferred
