Location: Pasadena, TX 77507
Shift: Travel 60%- 70% of the time 7am-4pm in shop when not traveling
Pay: $45-$55/ Hour

Duties:
- Responsible for the supervision, coordination, and proper work assignments of Field Mechanics.
- Assist in the scheduling of field service appointments according to the work priority and maintains an orderly flow of work.
- Service and provide preventive and corrective field mechanical service on Centrifugal and Reciprocating compressors. Disassembles repairs and reassembles components and equipment to ensure proper alignment, balance, and tolerances.
- Responsible for identifying and communicating work related deficiencies (to Field/Shop Service Manager) due to additional customer/production specifications or requirements along with changes in equipment/technology.
- May be required to conduct on-the-job training for new hires and/or employees who require refresher training. Is responsible for completing training related forms and sending them to the document control manager.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering and supervising staff to obey safety procedures and regulations.
- Field maintenance tasks including equipment troubleshooting, installation/removal, and repair.
- Remove, Rebuild, and clean compressor rotors.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical drawings required.
- Replace, Rebuild, and install gear boxes.
- Assist in the performance management of staff including corrective action, discipline, competency assessments and annual performance reviews.
- Advises customers of necessary repair services and makes recommendations to customers for preventative maintenance.
- Documents actions by completing field/performance/quality logs/forms.
- Maintain accurate record keeping, reports for document control.
- Will be required to perform quarterly & annually work-related assessments such as quizzes, hands-on test, verbal protocol, and on-the-job verification to ensure competent employees.
- Perform other duties as required.
Key Activities
- Participates in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies, and procedures; participate in the implementation of approved policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Participates in the selection of new hires; provides and/or coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies and implements discipline procedures when required.
- Inspecting equipment by checking bearing clearances rotor conditions, etc.
- Perform compressor repairs with disassembly (including mechanical seal removal).
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Install, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul various types of compressors.
- following manufacturer's instructions and/or company polices.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3 to 5 Years Supervising/Managing Field Workers and 3 to 5 Years in the Petro-Chemical Industry Willingness to support ACT’s policy of a drug-free work environment.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments required.
- Understands quality management system.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical drawings required.
- Demonstrated understanding of basic math skills required.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- You must possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
- Requires travel.
- Should be comfortable using computers in a work environment.
- Must pass background check.
